03.01.2010 CREDIT CARD PROCESSING ISSUES
Due to a recently discovered issue with our Credit Card POS machine, it has been determined that we haven't been processing our customers' cards from those of you who purchased fuel or merchandise from us in the previous 6 months. This issue was discovered and resolved on February 27th, and we immediately closed out several pending transactions. Some of you may discover this on your own on your credit card statements and wonder what is going on.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.

10.16.2009 ON-FIELD WEB CAMERA ADDED
In an effort to provide better service to our visitors, we have installed a web camera to provide a view of the current field conditions in real time. We are currently testing various setups, and will more than likely be adding additional cameras in the future covering the various passes pilots might fly through to reach us. The camera loads with a default snapshot of the current conditions, but you are also given the option to stream the video for a live feed. Feel free to leave us some feedback and let us know what you think!

To see the view from our camera, or to check current weather conditions, please visit our weather page.

10.05.2009 SNOWPLOW READIED FOR SERVICE THIS WINTER
The airport recently acquired an Oshkosh Snowplow from the Aspen-Pitken County Airport. The plow features both a broom and a blade attachment. The broom will allow us to keep the runway and taxiways free from debris, while the blade will allow us to keep the runway clear of snow. Both will make it possible to keep the airport at full operational status year round!

If you have any questions as to our operational status or capability, please feel free to contact us.

08.31.2009 MV-22 OSPREY VISITS LEADVILLE
On August 31, 2009 Bell Aircraft and the United States Marine Corps brought a MV-22 Osprey to Lake County Airport to conduct High Altitude Performance Testing. The Osprey is a multi-mission, tiltrotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. It is designed to perform missions (such as troop insertion) like a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft.

Be sure to see the pictures of the testing in our gallery!
